It was in the shadow of Utah's Wasatch Mountains where Jeffrey Ambrose began his career in nature, landscape and wildlife photography. As an outdoor enthusiast, he began his relationship with wilderness at a young age. From skiing, rock climbing, backpacking and hiking, he learned early in life to take notice of the unique beauty to be found in nature. It was not until his college days that he began photographing seriously the more intimate details and feelings found in the natural landscape.
Jeffrey was educated in the art of photography by personal experiences, and not under the direct influence of other artists. This has allowed him to develop his very unique approach and style to landscape photography. His formal college, and graduate studies focused on science and engineering, leaving photography as an unbiased artistic outlet. He has always focused on capturing his natural landscapes using the marriage of artistic talents and technical skills. His engineering education has allowed him to sharply hone the technical skills required in capturing his artistic desires.
Most of Jeffrey's work is printed as limited edition photographic prints. As a deep lover of wilderness, he also offers his images to international, national, and local environmental organizations to help in the aid and protection of our fleeting wild lands. He is always willing and excited to offer his skills to help any ecosystem preservation cause, no matter how large or small it may seem.
Ambrose Landscape Photography is located in Salt Lake City where Jeffrey, his wife Allison and their two children reside. Jeffrey is always excited to offer his advice and photography skills to others. If you happen upon him on location, he is always willing to share with you his experience and passion for nature photography.
On an annual basis, Jeffrey provides slide presentations and clinics through the outdoor retailer giant REI. He has recently participated in the public development of Adobe Lightroom software for professional photography workflow, as well as continually promote products for Nikon USA.
